Kristian Kožul is supposed to be the preminent artist of Croatian art-scene. I may agree with that: Croatia is non so big – or influent – comparing with the entire universe.
A part from that, I was very impress by this picture which represents, basically, the the fragmented and oversaturated stage of the artist. Unuseless ornaments, bizarre details, redundant forms. Too much information, a lot of misinterpretations, with is the title of the Solo exhibition. Kožul was born in 1975 in Munich, Germany. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and at the Arts Academy in Dusseldorf. He has had solo exhibitions in Austria, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Slovenia and the US. He has participated at many national and international exhibitions and festivals, including the Young Artists Biennale (Rome, 1999), MoMA PS1 (New York, 2005) and Beijing Biennial of Contemporary Art (2007). He works and lives in Zagreb, Croatia. Now he exposes at Lauba House, a new no profit organisation based in Zagreb.
